Jamie Svisco

Jamie Svisco joins Baxter Law as an attorney with more than four years of experience in complex family law matters and is expanding her practice into estate planning. Jamie knew she wanted to be an attorney from the age of 15. She started working toward that goal beginning in 2017 with her first legal job working in business immigration in her home state of Michigan. She attended the Honors College at Oakland University in Michigan, graduating Magna Cum Laude with two B.A.'s: one in Criminal Justice with Specialization in Courts and the other in Spanish Language and Literature. Jamie wrote her senior thesis on the role of race in jury selection and the effect of state jury selection laws and has advanced Spanish language proficiency following a decade of study and experience.

Jamie attended law school at Indiana University Maurer School of Law where she received awards for her oral advocacy skills, pro bono work, and contributions as the Senior Managing Editor of the Indiana Journal of Global Legal Studies. During her time in Indiana, she worked as a certified legal intern for the Monroe County Public Defender's Office and clerked at a general practice firm where she obtained experience in various types of law, ranging from school law, to sports law, to business law. She was also selected for a competitive fellowship wherein she worked abroad in Argentina in pharmaceutical law and arbitration at the country's largest law firm, Marval, O'Farrell & Mairal. Jamie moved sight unseen from Indiana to Bend in 2021 and hasn't looked back since. She received the Rising Star designation from Super Lawyers for both the 2024 and 2025 years in recognition of her expertise in family law.

Outside of the law, Jamie's family and friends are priority. She loves spending time outdoors with her fiancé and their labradoodle, whether that be paddleboarding the Deschutes River or biking around town. Jamie grew up in a military family and naturally developed a passion for travel as a result; she has studied abroad in Spain, been wine tasting in France, and most recently, got engaged in Japan. She has a long-standing passion for fitness as a former soccer player, swimmer, sprinter, and bodybuilder. Nowadays, you can find her teaching tricks-based pole fitness classes at Seksé Fit in the Box Factory.
